河南省中西医结合重大疫情救治基地开建
With a total investment of 170 million yuan, the Base for Treatment of Major Infectious Diseases with Integration of TCM and Western Medicine has started construction at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine, which will effectively improve Henan’s ability to respond to public health emergencies by a combination approach of Western and traditional Chinese medicine.
8月3日记者获悉，日前，河南省中西医结合重大疫情救治基地正式落户河南中医药大学第一附属医院，项目总投资1.7亿元，目前已经开始建设，建成后将有力提升河南省应对重大疫情的中西医结合救治能力。

It is learned that the base will be built at the two campuses of the hospital. At the campus on Zhengzhou’s Renmin Road, an independent public health building will be built with a fever clinic, a radiology department, a clinical lab, and 40 (a maximum capacity of 60) beds for negative-pressure ICUs. At the campus in Zhongmu county, another independent public health building will also be built with 2 negative-pressure operating rooms, 100 beds for negative-pressure ICUs, and 100 beds for respiratory and infectious diseases. Besides, it will also be equipped with such departments as fever clinic, enteric diseases clinic, CT examination room, dissecting room for infectious diseases, reserve for medical supplies, public health discipline, etc., to strengthen the capacity of Henan’s TCM hospitals for treating infectious diseases.
据悉，河南省中西医结合重大疫情救治基地项目分别在河南中医药大学第一附属医院两个院区进行建设。其中，在郑州市人民路院区建成独立公共卫生楼，设置发热门诊、放射、检验、负压隔离重症监护病床40张，最大容量60张。在位于中牟的院区，将建设一座独立的公共卫生楼：设置负压重症监护病房（ICU）100张床位，负压手术室2间，呼吸、感染床位100张，并设发热门诊、肠道门诊、CT室、传染病解剖室、应急物资储备、公共卫生学科等，加强河南中医院传染病收治能力。
After completion, it will not only serve as a permanent and fixed base for the treatment of major epidemic diseases by virtue of integrated Chinese and western medicines, but also undertake the tasks of emergency supplies reserve and the admission and treatment of severe cases of major infectious diseases in Henan.
该项目建成后将作为永久固定的中西医结合重大疫情救治基地存在，采用“平战结合”的模式合理使用，承担我省重大疫情危重症患者集中收治和应急物资集中储备任务。

“In peacetime, routine work will be carried out at the base, while during the outbreak, standardized fever clinics and isolation wards will be put into operation for epidemic prevention and control, diagnosis, treatment, scientific research, etc., so as to give full play to the unique advantages of the TCM and effectively enhance Henan’s ability to respond to major infectious diseases outbreaks with combined treatment of TCM and western medicine,” said Zhu Mingjun, head of the hospital.
“平时做好维护，发生疫情立即进入战时状态，迅速启用标准化发热门诊、隔离病房开展相应的防控、诊疗、救治和科研工作，充分发挥中医药的独特优势，有力提升我省应对重大疫情的中西医结合救治能力。”河南中医药大学第一附属医院院长朱明军说。
It is reported that the hospital has launched a series of training programmes for the treatment of critically ill patients so as to reserve talents for the base and play a greater role in responding to public health emergencies with the unique advantages of the TCM.
